"Mature" Hairbows

A few weeks ago my friend called wanting to know if I could make her some bows. Her problem was she wore a white shirt to work everyday and needed a splash of color. Looking at the cost of bows, she thought she would rather pay me to do them then give her money to the stores. So I gladly helped her out. 

I was really happy with the way the collection turned out. But it doesn't hurt when you have a great friend in mind when you are making the bows. 

 These are the satin burned edges that are oh so popular. And I must say, fun to make.

These are gathered by pulling the existing wire or from a running stitch.

And of course an adorable model. 

Flower headbands

What to do... Clean the house or make headbands for my friend's little girl for her birthday. Big surprise which one won. I love wrapping the headbands with felt verses ribbon. It goes so much faster. I used several different centers for the flowers. I can't ever decide which one I like the best. Next time I do these I might take pictures for a tutorial. 

I also threw in a few simple bows. I love to use these to pen back bangs in the front. It seems like my girl's hair grows straight down into their eyes. Even if I would like to let them go without a bow every once in a while, they wouldn't be able to see. 

My New Favorite Bow and a Onesie Dress

I LOVE THIS BOW!!! 

I think I will have to make a million more. In every color. For every girl I know. Okay, that is a bit much. This is probably the most time consuming bow that I have made. Well, one that I will continue to make.

 I just think it is so sweet. 

 And here is a onesie dress that I made for my niece. Of course it is being modeled by someone slightly larger that happens to live at my house. If it was summer, I am not so sure that it would be going to my niece.... But I know that I can make more and that it won't fit my itty bitty girl by next summer.

I used this print and some coordinating fabric to make burp cloths and bibs already. And we are using all the materials for the shower! I can't wait to post pictures of all the things we are doing for it. But I don't want to spoil the shower just in case.

My Hairbow Obcession

 I can't stop making bows, headbands, whatever. What my oldest switched over to headbands I got so excited. A whole new set of things to make. I don't know what they put in a hot glue stick, but it must have something that makes it addicting! I'll add new styles when I see them, or make them. YEAH!!!

 Felt flowers (I've done the center a few different ways, this was attempt one) and crocheted flowers and of course the classic ribbon bows.

 Set one of my Sister-in-law's bows. I think I have added at least 15 more. And I think there are some styles and colors that I left out. So it is not complete. We had to make sure that there were plenty of colored headbands too because white isn't enough. My favorite are the ones made from fold-over elastic. 

Another sweet niece's Christmas present. She started wearing pigtails. Her original set had to be updated.

I did this set of paintings, small frames, and hairbows with holder for another special little girl.

The valance that goes to the bedding. I used this to make sure that the images and colors matched perfectly! 

I am obsessed with making hairbows. It is one of my favorite things about dressing a baby. So I think everyone should have the perfect set of bows for their little girl too.
